For the third straight time, Pardee Homes received the "Best in Class" safety designation from California's Division of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA). Known as VPP, the Voluntary Protection Programs promote effective worksite-based safety and health, and are tied to federal standards. They were formerly known as the Golden State Awards.

The purpose of this awards program is to recognize the achievements of builders and trade contractors who have developed and implemented high quality construction safety programs, as well as honoring those government officials and NAHB-affiliated associations who have made successful efforts to advance safety in the home building industry. The NAHB Safety Award For Excellence (SAFE) recognizes member companies and their employees for the excellent safety programs that make them leaders in the residential construction industry.

Presented by Professional Builder magazine and the National Association of Home Builders Design Committee, the Best in American Living Award (BALA) competition honors builders nationally for excellence in homebuilding and design.

At the 2004 SAM Awards, Pardee was a finalist in several categories and won for our energy efficiency commitment.
