We care about making a difference.
Every home we build is part of a larger community. That's why Pardee Homes embraces local charities that contribute to the vitality of the communities where we build, something we have done since our founding in 1921. We give back because it matters to us, and because it's the right thing to do.
From donating land for schools and building parks in Pardee communities, to supporting services for less fortunate neighbors, we have a rich history of contributing to the neighborhoods where we build. Our employees, as well as vendors, subcontractors and trade partners donate countless hours and lots of heart to create a giving culture that allows all of us to be part of something great.
We highly respect the fine organizations represented on this page. Check them out—maybe you will want to lend a hand, too?
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic and unpredictable autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. The MS Challenge Walk is a 3-day, 50-mile endeavor that raises money towards research, services and education to help eradicate MS. Please join our efforts!
Pardee Homes' MS Challenge Team has helped to further that mission for the last nine years by walking the 3-day event, cheering for participants and, more recently, sponsoring a rest stop along the route. Through the years, Team Pardee Homes has raised nearly $350,000 for this worthy cause, and for the 10th consecutive year Team Pardee will walk again Sept. 27 – 29, 2013 to help raise awareness.
You can make an important difference in the lives of people living with MS by participating in the Challenge Walk. There are many ways to get involved; you can walk, join our Super Crew or Crew or simply volunteer for a few hours. With your help, we can create a world free of MS!
HomeAid, a national non-profit organization, builds and renovates shelters for America's temporarily homeless, more than one million of whom are children. From emergency shelters to transitional or permanent housing, HomeAid's mission is "to build and maintain dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives."
Pardee Homes supports the HomeAid mission through donations and participation in the national and four regional chapters with efforts aimed at fund-raising, board service and shelter expansion projects. The Pardee Homes team has been a longtime supporter of HomeAid's annual fundraiser Project Playhouse, creating more than 30 playhouses and pet houses over its 18-year commitment and raising more than $500,000.
The Pardee Homes Los Angeles/Ventura team garnered national attention for HomeAid. One of the playhouses built by this team serves as an interactive exhibit in the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The Los Angeles/Ventura team has contributed financially as well as with industry expertise and leadership to a number of shelter projects, including Euclid Villa and the Santa Clarita Domestic Violence Center.
The Pardee Homes San Diego team supports HomeAid's Home Start shelter by providing holiday gifts and necessities to homeless mothers and their children. With your one-time donation, a child can have a warm bed, a mother can have a safe place and a family can begin to rebuild their lives. Every dollar you donate goes toward the construction of HomeAid's life-changing facilities.
When is a playhouse, or a pethouse more than just child's play? When it raises money for people trying to rebuild their lives. Time and time again, Pardee Homes' employees have put their skills to work for HomeAids Project Playhouse fundraisers.
Playhouses and pethouses built and donated by Pardee Homes have raised more than $500,000 for the transitionally homeless. The playhouses have also garnered national attention for HomeAid, and have been placed in the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., and also in Chicago, New York, Dallas, Las Vegas and throughout California.
You can become a sponsor, volunteer or purchase a ticket for the opportunity to win one of the fabulous pethouses. Check the Project Playhouse Pet Edition website to see which one might be right for you.

Established in Santa Clarita, California in 1997, Carousel Ranch is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing developmental therapeutic and recreational programs for disabled and disadvantaged children through horses. This exciting concept in equestrian therapy increases muscle tone and builds balance, coordination and control, which potentially enables children to use their hands and arms and to sit, stand and walk.
For six years running, Carousel Ranch has been part of Pardee Homes' Holiday Giving Celebration. Each year Pardee Homes employees have opted to forgo their own festivities, choosing instead to host a holiday party for youths at the ranch. The event features Santa Claus, carolers, a petting zoo, craft stations and a campfire to make s’mores. In the fall of 2012, Pardee Homes also helped the ranch create its first pumpkin patch ever by donating pumpkins.
Volunteers are the heart of Carousel Ranch, participating in therapeutic sessions, grooming horses and assisting with office work and special events. Not an equestrian? You can still help – by shopping! Join e-scrip; there’s no fee. And every time you shop at participating vendors (like Vons, Chevron or hundreds of others), Carousel Ranch receives a monthly gift based on your spending.
Since 1997, the RAIN Transitional Living Center has provided housing and services to families and single adults in Ventura County, California, to help them transition from homelessness to permanent housing. Serving up to 70 people at a time, RAIN provides nutritious meals, life skills courses, child enrichment programs and intensive case management services.
Ten years ago, Pardee Homes’ employees opted out of a holiday luncheon to support RAIN instead. Since then, Holiday Giving has become a beloved tradition – one that includes hosting a Holiday Party with Santa Claus and wish list gifts. In addition, Pardee has also assisted with facility improvements and employees have given generously of their time and resources year-round. Recently, the Ventura County Human Services Agency recognized our commitment to RAIN with a Partner Appreciation Award.
Do you love caring for children? Are you gifted in arts and crafts? Could you teach classes on hygiene? Etiquette? Safety? RAIN could use your help with these and other vital services. The center would also welcome groups of volunteers to clean, garden, paint or perform general maintenance – indoors and out.
The mission of The Shade Tree is to provide safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children at no cost to them and offer them life-changing services that promote stability, dignity and self-reliance. Residents in the 38,000-square-foot facility are given access to a free health clinic and children’s activity center and can utilize resources for job skills development, housing placement and mental health coordination. Additionally, they can house their cherished family pets at Noah’s Animal House.
At Pardee Homes, we believe everyone can be a part of the solution to homelessness, and that's why we make cash contributions, tied to home sales, to The Shade Tree Shelter each year. Pardee Homes' employees go the extra mile by holding a holiday clothing and gift drive and making sure Santa visits the shelter with food, gifts and a festive spirit.
8,822 volunteer hours. In one year alone, the community of Las Vegas generously supported The Shade Tree with incredible gifts of time and talents. You can be part of this – whether you can volunteer every week or just when your schedule allows. The shelter also needs your financial support; a full 50% of its operational money comes from private companies and donors like you.
