Giving back is at the heart of Pardee Homes' culture. Our employees, contractors and vendors contribute time and resources, too, to support the organizations and activities that can make a real difference in people's lives. We invite you to share in the satisfaction of being involved with these fine organizations—and of helping to keep our communities strong.
The Boy Scouts of America provides an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to learn the responsibilities of participating in citizenship and to develop personal fitness. Co-founders George, Hoyt and Douglas Pardee began our tradition of contributing to the Boy Scouts. In 2008, Pardee Homes' employees provided leadership and supervision for the building of a new nature center in Orange County. In the late 1990s alone, Pardee Homes donated more than $2 million to Camp Emerald Bay.
Our sponsorship of the Pardee Homes Classic Golf Tournament has netted more than $3.5 million, awarded more than 80 college scholarships, and along with other contributions of time, money and leadership has become a bankable foundation for this council for more than 50 years. We're proud that Camp Emerald Bay was named Camp George and Katherine Mae Pardee in 1998, and we're proud to continue the legacy by supporting the Boy Scouts of America today.
Place young people into a solid educational community, and there's no limit to what they can achieve. That's why Pardee Homes has served a wide range of educational initiatives from scholarship programs and libraries to construction projects and entrepreneurial education, as well as donations of land, computers and more.
