The Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIA/SC) has named Michael McGee, Pardee Homes’ President and CEO, as its 2007 Builder of the Year. The 2006 Builder of the Year, Ali C. Razi, president of Stratham Homes in Irvine, presented the honor at the BIA/SC Awards and Installation dinner, a featured highlight of the Building Industry Show (BIS). Held in Long Beach, BIS is an annual exposition and conference sponsored by BIA/SC.
“Mike McGee exemplifies the innovative thinking and leadership we seek when selecting our Builder of the Year,” said Razi. “Pardee Homes has risen to new levels under Mike’s guidance, and is noted for quality homes and communities, philanthropic initiatives and leadership in environmentally friendly construction. BIA/SC congratulates Mike on this well- deserved honor.”
With Pardee Homes since 1988, and its CEO since 2000, McGee leads the largest wholly owned subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company (WRECO), a subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Company. His experience includes residential development, entitlement and strategic planning, for Pardee Homes and WRECO in California, North Carolina and Washington. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from USC and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.
“I am honored and proud to share this recognition with everyone at Pardee Homes,” said McGee. “They wholeheartedly share my desire to advance the quality of our homes and communities, and their dedication has contributed greatly to the achievements honored by my peers.”
Earlier this year McGee was elected to the California Building Industry Foundation’s Hall of Fame, with induction celebrated as part of PCBC, the nation’s largest regional conference and exposition for the real estate development industry. HomeAid, a leading national non-profit provider of housing for America’s temporarily homeless, also honored McGee during PCBC 2007. HomeAid recognized McGee for his strong support of HomeAid’s fight against homelessness.
“Mike personifies Pardee Homes’ renown as an experienced yet forward-thinking organization,” said WRECO President Dan Fulton. “We at WRECO are proud to see yet another high honor for Mike McGee and the company he leads so capably.”
