Pardee Homes announces new honors for architectural design excellence, green-built housing, sustainable community planning and civic outreach. The company earned its most recent accolades in the 2008 Gold Nugget Awards (GNA). GNA honors stellar achievements in design and planning from the Western U.S. and internationally. Community and home design, green-built housing, and site planning are among the categories and 2008 winners emerged from some 520 entries.

Pardee Homes’ Gold Nugget winners were:

• California Green Builder Residential Community—Pardee Homes earned a Grand Award for Poppy Lane, a detached home neighborhood in Natomas Meadows in Sacramento; KTGY Group, Inc. is the architect.

• Sustainable Community—the company’s smart growth master-planned community of Pacific Highlands Ranch in San Diego earned a GNA Merit Award for Best Sustainable Residential Housing Neighborhood.

• Luxury Residence—Plan 2X of Tremezzo in  Lake Las Vegas in Henderson won a GNA Merit Award for detached housing 3,501 to 4000 square feet. Bassenian/Lagoni Architects designed the home.

GNA’s top honors also included The Preserve™ at Chino, where Pardee Homes has introduced Candlewood’s neighborhood of moderately priced, upscale detached homes.  The Preserve was planned by EDAW, Inc. for Lewis Community Developers.

Civic Outreach—Pardee Homes is also applauded for commitment to community, most recently in the MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence), a program sponsored by the Sales and Marketing Council of Southern California. The company earned a MAME for innovative marketing of Project Playhouse, the signature fund-raiser for HomeAid. This national non-profit is dedicated to providing quality shelter for temporarily homeless individuals and families.

Joining forces with Mattel’s American Girl®, the maker of books, dolls and accessories that celebrate girls, Pardee Homes helped raise HomeAid’s national profile by building multiple playhouses with an American Girl character theme, and placing them in major metro centers coast to coast. The 2007 campaign also achieved a live feature on “The Early Show” for CBS.
