Soleil at Bordeaux, located in Pacific Highlands Ranch, is San Diego County's first community to feature the ZEH program, where homes include state-of-the-art energy-efficient construction and appliances plus commercially available renewable energy systems such as solar electricity that together dramatically reduce energy usage. ZEH is a program developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and features technologies that help reduce an energy bill by 50% or more.
The SAM Award for Energy Efficiency is based on building orientation, architectural features, envelope insulation, penetration, HVAC duct work, lighting and advanced technologies, as well as the marketing and advertising of the energy efficiency of the project. In addition, the winner must exceed their overall Title 24 building energy standards by a minimum of 10%.
"It is an honor to receive this recognition by the BIA of San Diego," said Andrea Collins, regional marketing manager for Pardee Homes.
"One of the most exciting things about Soleil is
the unprecedented possibilities of the Zero Energy Homes program. Residents at Soleil who choose the ZEH package could potentially reduce their energy use by 67%, and up to nearly 75% by adding additional energy saving options. It is truly exciting to be the first homebuilder to offer this program in San Diego County."
Soleil at Bordeaux offers energy-conscious homebuyers a collection of three stunning floor plans with square footage ranging from approximately 2,353 to 2,730 square feet. Homes have from three to five bedrooms, three baths and three-bay garages. Residence One has a great room, kitchen nook and optional den or fourth bedroom. Residence Two has a formal living and dining room, plus family room, kitchen eating nook and optional room choices that include an expanded loft or office. The third residence also has formal living and dining rooms, a spacious kitchen with an eating nook plus the option of a fourth or fifth bedroom, den or loft.
Many distinctive features are included in all plans, including stately entry foyers with ceramic tile flooring, dramatic ceilings, elegant interior architectural details, and gourmet kitchens with food preparation islands, European-styled light honey finish beech cabinet doors, spacious food pantry, and a complete General Electric appliance package with 30" self-cleaning oven, "Quiet Power" dishwasher and five-burner cooktop. Master bedroom suites offer private dressing areas, walk-in closets and luxurious bathrooms with ceramic tile countertops and a Hydro SystemsŪ.
Each home at Soleil comes with a fully integrated, multi-media wiring system, including numerous types of pre-configured outlets such as high-speed category 5 wire and coaxial cable configured for video, telephone, data and networking capabilities.
To achieve the ZEH designation, the home must include technologies that reduce energy demand and generate electricity. Items like rooftop or trellis-mounted solar panels, fluorescent lighting and tankless water heaters are among the options available at Soleil that help create a ZEH home.
