Recreation
With scenic surroundings and ample area resources, including two community pools, Moorpark Highlands offers a variety of healthy recreational opportunities for the whole family. Cycling, walking and equestrian trails can be found nearby, and there are a number of horseback riding instructors operating in the area. In addition, at least 15 local parks currently offer tennis courts, multipurpose fields, barbecuing facilities, meeting rooms, volleyball courts, ball fields and playgrounds with some additional amenities planned. The Arroyo Vista Recreation Center offers recreational classes, as well as sports programs, including adult leagues in softball, basketball and volleyball, and youth leagues in basketball, t-ball and rollerhockey. 

Shopping/Entertainment
For families at Moorpark Highlands, finding what they need is a breeze with Target, TJ Maxx and Kohl's Department Store located just south of the community along New Los Angeles Avenue. Farther west, there are convenience stores, movie theatres, a pharmacy and an Albertsons nearby. What's more, with easy freeway access and a Metrolink to downtown Los Angeles and other San Fernando Valley locations, just about anything you could want or need is within easy reach.
