From Pacific Highlands Ranch, it's an easy drive to the beautiful beaches of Del Mar and La Jolla, including La Jolla's charming cove and Del Mar's dog beach that invites owners and leashed dogs. Nearby, Torrey Pines State Reserve has hiking and jogging trails, and the Torrey Pines Golf Course offers ocean views. This championship course is open to the public and host to the annual Buick Invitational Golf Tournament.

Shopping/Entertainment
Quaint downtown Del Mar offers boutique shops and lovely restaurants. Sophisticated La Jolla has chic shopping along Prospect; University Towne Centre, one of San Diego's largest malls; and La Jolla Village Square, the bargain hunter's choice. Enjoy contemporary theater at La Jolla Playhouse and spectacular ocean views at the Birch Aquarium. Locally there are many shopping conveniences, from banks to grocery stores to specialty markets, like Whole Foods and Jimbo's.
