We Know Talent When We See It!

Pardee Homes recently awarded scholarships to Alex Carrasco-Fernandez of Coronado High School and Jacob Newsom of Green Valley High School as part of the Pardee Homes’ Community Building Scholarship Program.

Carrasco-Fernandez is planning to attend the College of Southern Nevada this fall and major in business. Newsom will attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and plans to study architecture.  Each received a $1,500 scholarship from Pardee Homes, which can be renewed annually given they maintain high grades and a full course schedule each semester.

According to Kelly Grimm, grant and scholarship coordinator for The Public Education Foundation, there were more than 1,500 applicants this year for scholarships, the most the Foundation has received.

Created in conjunction with Pardee Homes’ 50th anniversary in Southern Nevada in 2002, the Pardee Community Building Scholarship supports seniors who demonstrate an interest in home building and community development and plan to attend an accredited college or university in Nevada. Since Pardee Homes began its scholarship with the Public Education Foundation, the company has awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships to more than 80 Clark County students.
