“Rock The Block” at Aliento: Meet the Designers
Lights. Camera. Action! The Aliento community in Santa Clarita recently made its big TV debut. Pardee Homes Los Angeles has joined forces with HGTV in a new home design competition called “Rock The Block.” Watch as four celebrity designers compete to deliver the best home restyling in four originally identical Pardee homes at master-planned Aliento. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to tune in!
Read on to meet the four talented designers and stars of “Rock The Block”: Leanne Ford from “Restored by the Fords,” Jasmine Roth from “Hidden Potential,” Mina Starsiak Hawk from “Good Bones” and Alison Victoria from “Windy City Rehab.”
Leanne Ford and her brother, Steve Ford, are co-hosts of “Restored by the Fords,” HGTV’s home renovation series. Creating beautiful and unique custom designs, Leanne and Steve bring older homes to life in the Pittsburgh area. Leanne’s interior design career took off when she restored and designed a turn-of-the-century schoolhouse in her hometown, which gained national attention. Leanne’s design aesthetic can be described as “modern yet lived-in,” and can be found in homes all across the country today.
Jasmine Roth stars in HGTV’s series “Hidden Potential,” where she uses her clever design skills to transform new construction into custom homes. Jasmine loves to meet the families to find out exactly how they live, and what would help them thrive in their dream home. In “Hidden Potential,” you’ll see her knocking down walls and retrofitting each home with the homeowners’ specific needs in mind. Fun fact: Jasmine’s first custom feature was something she designed for her four-legged friends – their own dog cave in her home.
Mina Starsiak Hawk
Mina Starsiak Hawk and her mother, Karen E. Laine, are on a mission to revitalize their favorite neighborhoods one house at a time. The mother-daughter team own a home renovation business in Indianapolis called Two Chicks & a Hammer. Together, they star in HGTV’s home renovation and flipping series “Good Bones.” The show follows Mina, a real estate agent, and Karen, a former lawyer, as they buy homes in serious disrepair, and sometimes gut them to the studs and transform them into stunning remodels.
As her show’s name suggests, interior designer Alison Victoria renovates properties in her hometown of Chicago on the HGTV series “Windy City Rehab.” With her creativity, Alison takes neglected homes in historic neighborhoods and restores them, while adding more square footage and style. She has also starred in DIY Network’s “Kitchen Crashers,” and was the first female host in the popular “Crashers” franchise. Her design style is known as glam and modern, and Alison Victoria Interiors’ client list includes high-end boutiques, resorts and private residences.
