3 Kid-Friendly Father’s Day Gift Ideas
Father’s Day is just around the corner! Looking for simple, creative ways your kids can show dad how much they love him? Here are three kid-friendly gift ideas that’ll bring a smile to dad’s face:
Make a Card
This Superhero-themed Father’s Day card lets your little ones make their mark – literally. You’ll need a canvas, scrapbook stickers, paint (blue, red and tan), paint brushes, Mod Podge®, a black Sharpie®, a paper plate and probably some baby wipes for easy cleanup. Your tot will provide his own handprint and footprint for the body and cape and some very basic art skills are required for the rest.
Or, if dad is a Star Wars fan, this Handprint Yoda Father’s Day card may be just the perfect crafty gift. This one requires a little more artistic skill, but don’t let that stop you from trying. You’ll need card stock, paint (light green, dark green, gray, brown and white) and a black Sharpie. Oh, and your child’s handprint, too! Paint his palm green and four fingers brown. Then, place his hand directly on the center of the card. The rest is up to you or one of your older children. Add details to make it look more like Yoda. Don’t forget to write “Yoda Best Dad”.
Design a T-Shirt
This Father’s Day T-shirt is a great way to get the entire family involved. Use fabric paint to place the kiddos’ handprints on the back of a T-shirt. You can be as creative as you want with this. Get a family photo professionally printed on the front, or use iron-on transfers to add a unique design or saying. Either way, this is a sweet idea to cherish the moment long after Father’s Day.
Cook a Meal
Surprise dad with a homemade grilled pizza. This easy, grilled pizza recipe is a fun way to get the kids involved in making something tasty for dad. A ready-made pizza crust or pre-made dough will do, along with dad’s favorite toppings. Just fire up the grill, and give it a go.
Another option is a hot dog bar. Round up the kids to help with the set up and toppings while you fire up the grill. Have a variety of old favorites and new, adventurous combinations. Who knows? You might just find a new family favorite.
